NBSC-IAELO Strengthens Global Readiness Through CMO 3 Travel Guidelines Workshop
The International Affairs and External Linkages Office (IAELO) of Northern Bukidnon State College (NBSC) actively participated in the Orientation-Workshop on CMO No. 3, Series of 2025—Updated Guidelines for Securing Authority to Travel Abroad for State Universities and Colleges—held on July 11, 2025, at the University Board Room, CEBA Building, Mindanao State University–Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT).
Representing NBSC were IAELO Designate Head Alven L. Gomez and Coordinator Maria Michaela Q. Jamora, who joined fellow delegates from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs). Their participation reflects NBSC’s commitment to institutional compliance with international travel protocols and the promotion of strategic, responsible global engagements.
The event featured comprehensive discussions on Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order (CMO) No. 3, Series of 2025, which outlines the revised procedures and requirements for securing travel authority for SUC personnel. Key officials spearheaded it, including CHEDRO X OIC-Director IV Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez and CHEDRO X OIC-Chief Administrative Officer Atty. Virgil Thery Amor Ladera-Deguilmo, and MSU-IIT Vice Chancellor for International Affairs Dr. Joey Genevieve T. Martinez.
Workshops addressed critical topics such as:
* The implementation of CMO 03 and its implications for SUCs
* Executive Order No. 77 on allowances and travel expenses for official local and international travels * Identification and avoidance of predatory international conferences and journals
The workshop also allowed participants to ask questions and engage in meaningful dialogue with CHED and MSU-IIT officials. With the increasing importance of international mobility and global academic partnerships, NBSC’s active involvement in such activities ensures that its internationalization strategies remain aligned with national standards and best practices.
Through their presence, Gomez and Jamora reaffirmed NBSC’s ongoing efforts to build robust external linkages, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote international academic collaboration to support its global excellence vision.
